25 (who?)

Let's runaway to Never-land.
Let's do it; just you and me.
We wont have to look back again,
we'll finally be truly free.

We won't be forced to surrender
or face the problems here.
We'll carve a new place for our own
And let the world just disappear.

We'll face pirates, ghosts, and fairies.
And dream our nights away.
Wont grow old, be forgotten or perish.
so promise me you'll stay.

We'll lead a band of vagabonds.
And climb up through the trees.
We'll fly kites till our discretion
all in the summer breeze.

Time will stop in time for dreaming.
And we'll never be hurt again.
We'll be happy and comforted
so come on lets go my friend.

We'll face our OWN reality
and be spared from a dying world.
Within our place of fantasy
the red carpet's been unfurled.

Take my hand my dear one
the adventures are waiting now.
Just jump into the magic
I promise I'll show you how.

You see you are all I need.
In this world of imperfection
I'll show you a life of happiness
free of turmoil and segregation.

So lets fly far, far, away
I'll give you the love you deserve
We'll never want for anything.
Our seats have been reserved.

Hurry up before we are older!
Quickly just grab my hand
We will leave before the stars set
and go home to Never-land.
The most random happy poem I could muster. First of all blame where it is due. :iconbleedthedream180: was mentioning Peterpan and Never-Land at like 1 in the morning. Which is a no-no when talking to me, because then i am COMPELLED to do something like this.

Critiques are more than welcome and help correcting or changing is welcome too! :)

As a fan of Peter Pan already, it was like I was pulled into the words as I read. This poem plays on our fantasies and continuous search for a better place in life. Being totally honest, this is one of the best interpretations and spins put on Never-Never Land. The words flow almost as smooth as water in a quaint stream. After reading this, i found myself repeating stanzas throughout the day! This is definatly worth a second read.
For this :iconmiyu713: has all the props i can give without seaming to be a kiss-a^^. Thanks for the wonderful work you share with us.

This poem is a personal interpretation of Peter Pan, easily. The original story was an allegory to the personal fears and struggles of the inevitability of growing up. Let's face the facts here: reality sucks, and there's nothing we can do about it. When we were kids it was easy to block out the hardships of life because the world was new at the time. We didn't care about education, the human condition, or war. All we wanted was to explore, play, and see how the world worked. This poem really captures that period in nearly every person's life where the only reality that existed was the one that we created in our minds. It didn't matter what parents told us, or what teachers forced us to learn; it was about where we were, what we were doing, and how to make every second of our lives worth living. There is so much nostalgia value in this poem that I feel my mind turn to slush. The feeling of not caring and enjoying what was around me, a feeling I've long cast aside in the wake of impending adulthood, is present here; like a snapshot of a memory that feels so distant, yet happened not so long ago. The lyrical quality just makes the experience even more electric with reminiscence, like a song a mother sings to her child to put them to sleep at night. And that's the thing about poems and stories that touch on themes like this: it's relatable to almost everyone. People are either at that stage now, just coming out of it, or have long since passed it into oblivion. No matter what, we always remember the places we played, the people we shared them with, and the adventures we created.

I don't know why,
But as soon as I read the first line,
I heard the voice in my head singing a song,
With the voice of Tigger XD

By voice in my head, I mean myself that spouts out random things like this.
Can you imagine Tigger singing this,
Or Peter Pan singing "I'm the Only One" XD

Haha. You and I and the voice in your head would get along marvelously. xD I was giggling the whole time thinking about peterpan and disney and singing random disney songs while writing that. xD :icontiggerplz: And besides you can never go wrong with singing tigger! :)

You can't really argue much there.
Eeyore as Captain Hook XD
And Piglet as Rufio.
Rabbit as the fairy
And mother kanga as jane

Hmmm. Wonder where the others might fit.

Christopher Robin as the gator XD
